Wouldn't it be amazing to have a fairy tale theme cake captured in a moment.. this cake captures Cinderella running down the steps when the clock strikes 12... 

I couldn't go pas making a beautiful carriage to go with the theme...

Absolutely loved making this cake. The cake is covered and then airbrushed and the silhouette are all hand painted directly on to the cake!

3D Lego Emmet Cake

This is my sons's 6th Birthday Cake! He wanted a Lego themed cake and what better way to do it than a real like 50cm tall Lego man himself! Was a hard decision choosing which character to make, but then "Emmet" came to mind. For those who have seen the Lego Movie this character sings the 'Everything is awesome" song it.. 
The cake is created with Chocolate mud layered with white chocolate and covered with fondant. 

I used a blue print and printed it over 4 - A4 pages and stuck it with tape, then using that as a template, carved and shaped the cake. This cake would have taken 4 kilos of fondant to cover the whole thing. I covered it with Bakels white fondant and used a dinkydoodle airbrush to get that perfect color of the character... The only thing I couldnt airbrush was his hair! 

All the boys in his class was gob-smacked to see a real life 3D Lego character as CAKE! They held their breath when they saw him, the mums lined to up snap photos... 
When its your own child's birthday as a cake artist you push yourself to make something creating and outstanding! I'm in a bit of a pickle now on what to make him next year!
